About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining productivity by troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and security updates
- Support Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and common business applications
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory
- Document support requests, resolutions, and maintain knowledge base articles
- Collaborate with IT team members on larger infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk role
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Exchange, and remote desktop tools
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar certifications are a plus
